It's an old-style boutique hotel, so the rooms are small, the layout is non-standard, and you open a window to cool off from the radiator heat. But the bed was excellent and furnishings well-maintained, staff friendly and eager to help, and building has character. It was what I expected and a good value.

I stayed over New Year’s Eve with friends and had an amazing time. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the hotel and area and appointed an extremely nice room on the 6th floor. The room had a great view and more than enough space. The sleeping quality was great as well. I will definitely stay here again if I am in New York and will recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Stayed there in December 2016. Got a double upgrade to a very spacious suite. The view however was not great. And the location of the hotel in Manhattan is far from ideal. Overall, everything was OK but it lacked excitement and glamour: the entrance lobby is cramped and freezing and looks like a 3-star hotel, there is no sauna or swimming pool, there is nobody to help you with luggage when you arrive, etc. The same applies to the room: very modern but rather dull. I booked a very good rate online so at least it was good value for money.

From the moment we were greeted by the Doorman to check out, entire Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and sleep program is excellent. Rooms a bit smaller than usual, but its New York. Breakfast Buffet, good quality and always kept replenished. It was nice the friendly servers kept coffee cups filled, unusual for a buffet. Great Location! Will be my Hotel of choice for New York. I didn't receive my cookie, but I won't stay away because of such a minor detail. And free Wi-Fi would always be welcome.

The beds were great. Rooms needed some maintenance- had to fix the toilet lever, toilet paper rack falling off the wall. Staff were very nice and helpful. Location is great. Internet access a bit too expensive - hotels shouldn't charge for it, it doesn't cost that much.

I have read some of the negative reviews on here, and must say that we didn't experience anything negative about the hotel. The rooms were nice and clean, the hallways were clean and well lit, the elevators were fast, and everyone from check-in to housekeeping to bartenders were friendly. The hotel is a short walk from the main street trolley, and is also within walking distance to 5th Avenue, The Museum of Modern Art, Rockefeller Center, and other attractions. The hotel also has a free shuttle to this area, but we did not use it. I would certainly stay here again.
